On 10 November 2016 students of IGUMO faculty of linguistics prepared an entertaining tour across English-speaking countries.
Vladimir Neliuba and Eugenia Lazareva acquainted the audience with interesting features of Canada, aspects of its life, culture, etc. Yulia Gert and Anastasia Chernyh followed them with a story of the main symbols of the United States. Then the guests joined an out-of-the-way excursion across the shooting locations of Harry Potter films situated in the UK guided by Valeriya Nekhaeva and Kseniya Sobova.
Then Eugeniya Belousova and Alina Kornachyova spoke about interesting facts and features of India, followed by Victoria Kulbachenko’s comments on the Hobbit’s shooting locations in New Zealand. Alyona Novikova and Alina Sereda finished the series of excursions with a story about Australia.
The participants also prepared many interesting contests and a Kahoot quiz. The audience enjoyed the themed evening greatly. Students also liked what they did. They didn’t just show their presentation to the guests but discovered some facts themselves as well which is really valuable.
