Marina Volynkina, Rector of MKIK, PhD in Law, became the moderator of the Ecology and Intellectual Property Law discussion platform at the 9th International IP Forum at the Kutafin Moscow State Law Academy (MSAL).
The Constitution of the Russian Federation regulates by the law the right of every citizen to a favourable environmental situation. However, today a declarative norm is not enough to protect nature. Participants of the panel discussion considered the problem from different angles.
Ekaterina Tetrokalashvili, MKIK lecturer, made a reporton the world ecological situation and presented it at MSAL. She named frightening numbers that once again emphasize the need to make a decision on natural resources protection.
Anastasia Petrova, architect and Dean of the Architecture College, defined the connection between architectural and construction processes and ecology. She told what materials and tools are used by modern architects for minimizing ecological damage. Anastasia Petrova paid special attention to the negative effect of demolition and reconstruction of structures.
Valentina Sinelnikova raised the issue of the influence of GMO food on the human body.
Participants of the discussion proposed to consider the necessity of introducing a provision on compulsory education for schoolchildren and students in the ecological field into the Federal Law ‘On Education’. They presented specific formats of educating eco-conscious citizens.
