The Psychology College of the International College for Arts and Communication (MKIK) is the first secondary vocational educational institution, which trains specialists in social work with additional specialisation in the field of practical psychology.

For three years students learn to use the methods of practical psychology, conduct group trainings and consultations on choosing a profession, master various areas of art therapy, and get acquainted with the methods of self-regulation.

Psychology College Practical Training

The students of the MKIK Psychology College undergo academic, industry-focused, and pre-graduation practical training at public social service institutions and private enterprises providing social services and psychological and medical assistance to citizens in difficult circumstances.

The following organisations provide the opportunity to get practical experience of working with elderly citizens and disabled persons: ‘Tagansky’ Regional Social Service Centre, ‘UMIRA’ Regional Social Organisation, Home for Veterans of Labor №19, and ‘Preodoleniye’ Rehabilitation Сentre. Students take part in the social and medical rehabilitation of disabled persons and conduct leisure activities for elderly people within the Active Longevity programme.

Students are trained in the central department and branches of the ‘Izmaylovo’ Centre for Social Assistance to Family and Children. In the children’s department, students identify families in need of assistance, organise leisure activities, and conduct various games and trainings with children.

The Psychology College cooperates with the International Professional Association of Psychologists, the projects of which are used for internships. Students participate in the project titled ‘My Resource’ that works with teenagers in difficult life situations.

During the internship, students learn to provide social assistance and psychological support to the institutions’ clients, actively cooperate with the centre’s specialists, gain experience in working with documents, and have the opportunity to implement personal ideas and projects.
