On the International Day of Peace, the Peace 50 community hosted a special action titled Peace Hour. Women from 20 countries took part in it. The organisers of the event created a video that became the basis for the petition addressed to the heads of all states.
The IGUMO team headed by Marina Volynkina, its Rector, organised and initiated an online marathon. During the action, the Peace 50 participants called upon all citizens of the planet to learn to accept the differences among countries and peoples, thus making them a source of dialogue, not conflict.
Marina Volynkina, the Rector of IGUMO, Oksana Kurenya, the Dean of the Faculty of Linguistics, and IGUMO and MKIK students of different fields of training presented their messages during the Peace Hour action.
After the event, the IGUMO team created a short video. It included the most touching words about peace expressed at the Peace Hour action. The students of IGUMO also addressed the audience with their message. More than 100 students sent their hands folded in the shape of a heart to all people of the Earth.
The video became the basis for the petition published at change.org online resource in 7 languages: Russian, English, Spanish, Chinese, German, French, and Turkish.
The petition’s goal is to call upon leaders of all countries to stop all military conflicts, preserve peace on Earth, and support peacemaking initiatives.
Sign the petitions if you share the idea of the Peace 50’s action to make women’s voices heard and stop all conflicts forever.
