The topic of ecology becomes more and more relevant every year. The idea of preservation of natural resources found its reflection in the Ecoproject carried out at IGUMO with the participation of students of all faculties.
Using various methods and channels of communication, students popularise the principles of ethical consumption, thus motivating themselves and others to eco-friendly living.
Within the framework of the Ecoproject, IGUMO students took part in the World Press Clubs Alliance for Climate international conference in November 2020. The conference was devoted to solving the problems of climate change. Exclusively for this event, students and lecturers of the Institute prepared a film about the environmental initiatives of IGUMO.
Simultaneously with the filming, IGUMO prepared for the Eco-Friendly Habits: Guarantee of Sustainable Development scientific conference. The event will take place on December 15, 2020. Our Belgian colleagues who have decided to support the environmental initiatives of IGUMO students will take part in the event.
The conference participants will consider the topic from different perspectives. The participants will address the following issues in their presentations:
- Ecology as a Field of Study in Contemporary Art;
- Ways to Promote Eco-Friendly Habits;
- Organization of Volunteer Projects in the Field of Ecology;
- Role of Modern Literature in Shaping the Principles of Ethical Consumption;
- Opportunities of Reusing Things;
- Russian and International Experience in Separate Waste Collection and Recycling.
The discussion of these important tasks of every individual is necessary to popularise the principles of eco-friendly living. IGUMO students are aware of the importance of such discussions and participate in them with great enthusiasm.
As part of the Ecoproject, students from different faculties regularly initiate contests dedicated to the topic of ecology for users of the Global Talents web-portal.
The website currently has three intellectual contests: ‘Ecological Fairy Tale, Television Defending Ecology, and Human in the World of Nature. According to the results of these competitions, students and winners of the competitions will participate in the Legal Protection of Intellectual Property: Problems of Theory and Practice international forum (IP Forum) scheduled for 12-13 February 2021 at the Kutafin Moscow State Law University.
Marina Volynkina, Rector of IGUMO, Irina Belogortseva, Deputy Rector for Learning and Teaching, and Valentina Sinelnikova, research associate, and deans of all faculties actively support the students’ initiatives within the Ecoproject.
According to Professor Valentina Sinelnikova, PhD in Law, it is very important to instil a responsible attitude to the preservation of natural resources in students through scientific and project activities.
