The 4-year students of the Faculty of Linguistics, Nikolay Boykov, Nikolay Gavrilov and Sevil Daminova, who had an internship at Czech Republic and who finished it last week, shared their experience with other students on the consulting hour with the Dean of the Faculty.

The students spoke about the cities, they had visited, showed photos of Prague and Hradec Kralove and its sights. The most useful part of their presentation were the lifehacks, priceless pieces of advice, which they shared with those students who are going to take internship at Czech Republic in the nearest future. That included completion of paperworks, currency swaps, Czech public transport and household issues, etc.

At the end of the presentation they showed some videos that were recorded during their travel to Prague.

The presentation was of a great interest among students. They asked questions about the advantage of learning Czech language. As the capital, Prague is very popular among tourists, exchange students, and employees from different countries. So it’s not surprising that each inhabitant of Prague speaks English. But in other cities of Czech Republic it is vitally necessary to know the Czech language, as almost nobody knows English there. Nikolay, Nikolay and Sevil mastered the basic level of Czech language and could parley in shops, restaurants and railway stations.

The students of Czech-Russian College are to take their first internship this spring, thus they listened to the speech attentively and made some notes. The advice of the 4-year students is priceless for them. And they have also started to learn the Czech language, so they won’t have any language problems.

Oksana Kurenya, Dean of the Faculty of Linguistics
