IGUMO TEAM DESCRIBED EVENTS AT SECOND EURASIAN WOMEN’S FORUM

Four journalists, three translators, two photographers, and three managers, guided by Marina Volynkina, rector of the IGUMO, worked at the Second Eurasian Women’s Forum. It took place from September, 19 to September, 21 in Saint-Petersburg and joined representatives of more than 100 countries.

For three days we had interviews with Russian and international women participants, wrote articles, prepared photo reports, and published all data on the Eurasian Women’s Community website.

We had to work right when the participants held discussions, sessions, and other events of the forum. However, we managed to be at several places at the same time. We tried our best to collect as much information as we could and mention every important detail.

We had no time to rest: even during the breaks between platforms we kept on working and communicating with guests from other countries. The Second Eurasian Women’s Forum provided new professional experience to the translators and photographers. They were filming video interviews for the first time. We will publish their videos on the Eurasian Women’s Community website soon so you will be able to enjoy the result of our team’s work.

Twelve people were updating the website but even this way we wouldn’t be able to make it without other members of the team. They stayed in touch with us being in Moscow.

Sukhrob Sharipov and Elmira Mustafaeva, our third-year students from the Faculty of Journalism, helped in writing the articles. Evgenia Kashirskaya, our third-year student from the Faculty of Advertising and PR, was responsible for broadcasting. Ekaterina Malevannaya, our editor, checked the journalists’ articles, and Roman Piskunov, IGUMO specialist in web-projects, published them on our website.

We were also inspired by one more event that took place during the briefing of Galina Karelova, Deputy Chairperson of the Federation Council.

The Vice-Speaker considered the Eurasian Women’s Community project to be one of the most significant initiatives realized after the First Eurasian Women’s Forum.

It’s extremely hard to express all of our emotions in one article. However, we couldn’t help asking the people who worked at the heart of the Second Eurasian Women’s Forum.

Alexander Safronov, third-year student, the Faculty of Photography:

‘Working at the Forum was very hard but amazing at the same time. Where else could I gain such professional experience in three days? We made approximately 33 000 photos of the event together with Pavel Ivanov, my mentor. They will keep our memories about the Forum.’

Nikolay Gavrilov, translator of the news agency of the Eurasian Women’s Community:

‘I was greatly impressed not only by the Forum, but our cultural program and even the trip to Saint-Petersburg. Our team was working fast and consistently. I managed to communicate with representatives from all around the world. It was my first time to work alone, not with a journalist. I had interviews for the first time, too. I translated some audio interviews there, before coming to Moscow. It was a great opportunity to train a skill of working fast and proficient.’

Viktoria Ezhova, journalist of the news agency of the Eurasian Women’s Community:

‘The Second Eurasian Women’s Forum is one of the most large-scaled events our team was able to attend. It was a proficient, complicated, but really entertaining period. Now I can’t even believe that we managed to do so much work. We didn’t feel tired back there. We were glad to communicate with positive and kind people and, most importantly, with one another. We have an incredible team including not just colleagues and professionals but people who became good friends. I think that it is the main reason why our work is so successful.’

Anastasia Orlova, IGUMO graduate, the Faculty of Design:

‘I’m still glad that I became a part of positive history. I was the one to be awarded as a creative director of the Patrium School. We will never forget our excitement, happiness, and constant cooperation with the world’s best women.’

The IGUMO team’s broadcasting isn’t the only thing we managed to do at the Second Eurasian Women’s Forum.

Marina Volynkina became an organizer and moderator of the open discussion about the role of media as an instrument of forming a concept of women’s leadership.

The platform had such speakers as Tatyana Chernigovskaya, a famous neuroscientist and a psycholinguist, Kseniya Sobchak, a journalist, Marina Mishunkina, the Vice-Editor of the Argumenty I Facty magazine, Larisa Belousova, Head of the TASS, Yulia Rakova, director on marketing of the GetResponse web-platform, Tatyana Bachinskaya, main editor of the Business and Society magazine, and Larisa Rudakova, President of the MediaLine communication group.

This platform became one of the most popular ones.

Soon we are going to publish a detailed article about this event on our web-portal.

Our students and graduates gain professional experience and competences through such events. We wish them new achievements and success!
