On the International Day of Peace, the IGUMO team organised and held the Peace Hour unique online action. The event brought together 50 women from 20 different countries. They addressed humanity with a message about preserving peace on the planet Earth.
Marina Volynkina, Rector of IGUMO, Oksana Kurenya, Dean of the Faculty of Linguistics, and students of different fields of training presented their speeches at the online action.
The words of all action participants were united by a common idea: peace is the most valuable thing that should be in people’s hearts. Society will not be able to develop and move forward if humanity focuses on aggression and wars. The task of every person is to treat others with love and respect, thus creating an atmosphere of goodness and trust around him or her.
The IGUMO students supported the online action with great enthusiasm. Speaking on behalf of the younger generation, they managed to choose the right words and literally melt the hearts of all participants. The students called upon people from all countries to unite in their diversity, to become closer to one another, and to learn to find peaceful ways of solving any conflicts.
The Argumenty I Fakty weekly magazine, one of the largest federal media, published an article about the Peace Hour action organised by the IGUMO team. That proves the importance of the project at the global level.
The IGUMO team also filmed a video clip combining the most touching words about peace said during the Peace Hour. The IGUMO students also addressed the audience with their message. More than 100 students sent their hands folded in the shape of a heart to all people of the Earth.
Participation in such actions makes it possible for the Institute’s students to feel their belonging to significant international projects, share their own thoughts about peace on equal footing with women leaders from different continents, and to get the unforgettable experience of communicating with the international community.
