There are numerous computer programs. Modern designers should know how to operate them. However, masters able to create projects with their own hands without using technologies are of no less importance. That’s why now calligraphy is one of the most popular branches of art.
The Faculty of Design strives to provide its students all necessary knowledge and skills in order for them to become real professionals who are in demand on the labour market. Thus a workshop devoted to calligraphy was organized for second-year designers. Yegor Yefremov, a scholar in Asian studies and a calligraphy specialist, already gave a workshop on the 17th of November and is going to give a set of extraordinary classes. In fact, that was the purpose of his arrival to Moscow from Yekaterinburg. Yegor has thorough knowledge of art and he is ready to share it.
During upcoming classes students will comprehend the basis and features of Eastern and Gothic calligraphy, Russian ornate lettering and different trends in such kind of art. It is important for future designers as they will learn how to create their unique font impossible to make using a computer program.
It’s not the first time when Yegor Yefremov provides the students of IGUMO with such experience. Last year he also gave several workshops for the Faculty of Design and his classes amazed the students.
