On collaboration with German leading school of design
IGUMO keeps developing its international cooperation with educational and cultural institutions of Europe. On November 29, Marina Volynkina, Rector of IGUMO, Elizaveta Zemlyanova, Dean of the Faculty of Design, and Roman Kozlov, Dean of the Faculty of Advertising and PR, met with representatives of the Bauhaus School of Design in Dessau.
Bauhaus is the educational institution that celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2019. The basis of design education and the design profession itself originated there. The leading educational institutions from all over the world use educational models worked out by that school of design. The style created by Bauhaus representatives is still relevant and finds its reflection in modern design and architecture.
Bauhaus School of Design keeps developing innovative educational approaches aimed at addressing new tasks by means of design.
Within Open Studios programme, international universities, art academies, and educational initiatives are invited to the historic workshop spaces of Bauhaus to work out and apply modern educational models in design. The preference is given to the projects that overcome the divisions between theory and practice in training professionals.
In February 2020, the projects of the students of the Faculty of Design of IGUMO and Design and Architecture Colleges of MKIK worked out in collaboration with their lecturers will be presented at Open Studios. The concept of Open Studios was adopted and approved at the meeting in Dessau.
Elizaveta Zemlyanova, Dean of the Faculty of Design of IGUMO, and Anastasia Petrova, Dean of Architecture College of MKIK, will be the curators.
In addition to IGUMO, a set of educational institutions from Brazil, the USA, Poland, Italy, Chile, Israel, and India will participate in Open Studios held by Bauhaus in the course of the year.
We are happy to announce that representatives of the Bauhaus School of Design will become partners and participants of the 8th Days of Contemporary Art (DOCA) international festival. They will give a two-day workshop and a lecture on innovative teaching methods.
