MKIK hosted the Personal Boundaries: Freedom and Responsibility student science conference. The students and lecturers discussed where freedom starts and ends, what ethics is, and why it’s important to take responsibility for your own decisions.

The conference opened with a report from the Rector of MKIK Marina Volynkina:

“The words we put in the event’s name refer to a problem of a person’s inner culture. Material wealth and even education are not culture because no skill can guarantee cultural content.

The Russian people were known for their desire to preserve culture even during hard times. If we stay true to our traditions, creative originality, and spiritual depth, then family, morals, and personal boundaries are going to become our cultural bonds.

During the conference, we will speak about the culture of communication, which implies respecting one another and responsibility for your decisions and acts”.

The first-year student of the Journalism and Publishing College of MKIK Fyodor Rotko dedicated his speech to respecting personal boundaries in relationships.

The student conference ended with a speech about ethical principles of different generations by the student of the Advertising and Communication College ArinaYunusova and an interesting tale about harsh discipline in China from the first-year student of the Chinese College Aglaia Mironova. The attendants found out that breaking the rules in China can lead to complete ignoring of a person.

It's important to note the speech of the famous artist and photographer Vadim Gushin who spoke about the personal freedom of students and discipline violations during the educational process.

The speakers not only researched relevant problems but also suggested specific ways of solving them. The participants of the conference called on to start with personal consciousness in respecting ethical and personal boundaries. We will prepare separate materials about several speeches from the conference. Keep following our news.
