ïîäïèñàòüñÿThe students of MKIK (the International College for Arts and Communication) exhibited in the Soyuz Pechat (Union Print) Moscow space at the WinzavodCentre for Contemporary Art. Materials about the YOUNG PRINT YOUNG ZIN project were on the front page of Metro newspaper and in the independent publication about contemporary art called ARTUZEL. Some participants of the exhibition received an invitation to cooperate from representatives of the Soyuz Pechat.
The exhibition includes a rack with zines of students of the Journalism and Publishing College, prints of students of the Design College, as well as a series of in-game photography.
The exhibition YOUNG PRINT YOUNG ZIN introduces the viewer to the creative environment of young authors. Diverse in style and approaches and performed using various genres and materials, the works reflect the anxieties, hopes, and fantasies of a generation that actively finds its voice, wants to be heard, and creates new trends in culture.
The pooling of resources and collaboration within the framework of the creative project allowed the authors to convey more vividly the meanings that they offered to the audience.
A curatorial group working on the creation of the exhibition included Evgenia Sterlyagova, lecturer of photo disciplines, and Deans Elizaveta Zemlyanova and Evgenia Suprutskaya.
Experts from the MKIK held special events within the framework of the exhibition: a lecture about zines as a means of self-expression and a workshop on collage and decollagetechniques.
The Soyuz Pechat association appreciates innovative approaches to projects and is interested in new names. Therefore, it provided a platform for statements to young authors. The curator of the space Katerina Savina has already visited the MKIK and discussed possible ways of cooperation through creativity and culture with the rector of the college Marina Volynkina.
The exhibition of the students of the MKIK drew the attention of major media. The Metro newspaper published the work 'Vulnerability' by a Photography College student Lera Volkova on the front page. The student criticises computer games for being able to implement scenarios of domestic violence. The project is made in a new genre of media art: in-game photography.
A large review material was released by the ARTUZEL publication, in which you can find feedback from guests on students' art projects and more detailed information from the curator Evgenia Sterlyagova.
The exhibition at the Soyuz Pechatat the Winzavod is an opportunity for students to be heard by a large audience and gain experience in exhibition activities outside their educational institution.
Congratulations and thanks to the participants of the exhibition!
