ïîäïèñàòüñÿSince November 15, the works of Mikhail Avvakumov, graphic artist, poster artist, Professor of the Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov, HonouredArtist of the Russian Federation, has been presented in the exhibition space of the International College for Arts and Communication (MKIK).
The exhibition includes the author's early student works, a series of linocuts, and works in the field of graphic design.
Mikhail Avvakumov has been teaching at Moscow State Academic Art Institute named after V.I. Surikov since 1974. He is engaged in easel graphics and works in the field of socio-political and advertising posters. The author also collaborated with the 'Poster' and 'Soviet Artist' publishing houses.
Since the early 1970s, he has been a participant in large Russian and international exhibitions and contests.
The author's works are kept in the Library of Congress of the USA, in private collections and museums of Russia (the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Russian State Library, the Central Museum of the Armed Forces, and the Museum of the City of Asbest) and other countries.
Mikhail Avvakumov was a member of the expert commission at the defense of theses at the Design College of MKIK and at the Faculty of Design of IGUMO many times.
College students often perform printed graphics. At the exhibition of Mikhail Avvakumov, students saw how their printed works can be used in graphic design.
The graphics exhibition is open at IGUMO Gallery on weekdays from 10:00 to 18:00 until December 24.
