Global Women Media

Description 

The Global Women Media is an ongoing project accessible for everyone. 

The project is implemented as part of the preparation for the Second Eurasian Women’s Forum on behalf of the working group of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation. 

Students guided by the scientific and teaching staff carry out research of the activities of women's organisations in Russia and abroad. These findings are used to develop communication projects aimed at: 

The Global Women Media, which is the Eurasian Women’s Forum’s news agency and informational and awareness-raising web-portal was developed and launched by the participants of the project. Representatives of women’s organisations can use this website to create their own webpage and update it with news, keep a calendar of events, communicate with like-minded people and journalists, and participate in educational webinars. 

Areas of scientific and practical work of the project: journalism, linguistics, psychology, advertising and PR, design. 

Goals 

Developing students’ skills of research work, project activity, team work, public performances, timely news coverage, and other professional skills.

Methods 

Preparation and organisation of conferences, roundtables, and presentation platforms. Collection and analysis of information and brainstorming. Team work on preparation and realisation of internet projects. Preparation of press materials, interaction with journalists.

Expected Results 

Acquisition of skills in various activities, completion of portfolio with Russian and international projects; development of skills of professional research, organisation, and communication, expansion of experience in public performances, teamwork, and other skills of project development. 

In the process of creating and operating an internet portal, students learn to interact with professionals in different fields (designers, linguists, and journalists), thus gaining experience of working in a team and creating web-portals of a new generation.

Prospects 

Informational support of the Eurasian Women’s Forum, which is an important event for the Russian and international community.
